This morning as I reflect on the state of affairs in the United States, I can't help but think about the 2020 Presidential election and COVID19; Jacob Blake and Kyle Rittenhouse; Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman.
We are at a crossroad. The words of Bone Thug-n-Harmony's iconic song, Crossroads, still ring true today: "Can somebody anybody tell me why? Hey, can somebody anybody tell me why we die, we die? I don't wanna die." This is the fear of many Americans today. Black and brown people. Essential workers. Our family and our neighbors.
More than ever, we need to liberate every American. We are at a crossroad -- we can choose to give freedom to all people which looks like equitable hiring practices, adjusted earnings for women in the workplace, quality education for all, and policies that reflect and protect all communities.
You are at a crossroad. From this moment forward, you decide who you want to be, how you want to live, and what you want to do to make life better for all Americans. #InTheGuarden we encourage you to choose liberation, equity, and social justice.
What do you choose today?
